New Delhi: While hearing a case, Madras High Court said that it is natural for a boy and a girl in love to hug and kiss. The court has made this comment while giving relief to a young man facing allegations of sexual exploitation.
According to the report of Live Law, while hearing the petition, Justice Anand Venkatesh said, physical contact of a man is necessary to commit the offense under Section 354-A (1) (I) of the IPC. During adolescence, hugging or kissing is normal between two people in a romantic relationship. This is not a crime in any way.
What was the matter?
Actually, a person named Santhganesh had filed a petition in the court demanding cancellation of the FIR lodged against him by the All Women Police Station. It was alleged that the petitioner along with the complainant called him to a place on 13 November 2022. After this there was a conversation between the two. After this the petitioner hugged and kissed the complainant.
The complainant informed his parents about the incident. Thereafter the petitioner was asked to marry her, but he refused. After this a case (FIR) was registered on behalf of the complainant.
Petitioner not guilty: Court
While hearing this case, the court has given relief to the petitioner. The court said that even if the allegations made are accepted as true, no criminal case can be made out against the petitioner. No legal action is required.
