Kishanganj, May 24 (HS). The Bihar Police team which had reached Vilayatibari in West Bengal, adjacent to Kishanganj city on the border of Bihar and West Bengal, to take action on the basis of secret information, was surrounded and attacked by an angry mob. To save his life, Kishanganj Sadar Police Station In-charge Sandeep Kumar fired five rounds in defence. Two people were injured due to bullet injuries.

On hearing the sound of firing, the villagers became even more furious. The crowd attacked the Sadar SHO and other police personnel. The Sadar SHO had come here to arrest a youth in connection with the tractor and corn robbery case. During this, the villagers surrounded Sadar SHO Sandeep Kumar and other police personnel. The villagers started attacking the police here. After this, Sadar SHO Sandeep Kumar had to fire five rounds to save his life.

On hearing the firing sound, the angry mob attacked the SHO and other police personnel. Many villagers including two constables were injured in this attack. It is noteworthy that Bihar Police did not take help during the operation. In this case, Dalkola SDPO Ratin Nath Vishwas said that we had received information that four-five Bihar policemen had come to arrest a boy from Bengal. But, Bihar Police did not take the help of Bengal Police during the operation. He said that this was wrong. Bengal Police has said that they were not given any information by Bihar Police and firing was done. Local MLA Minaj Alam called the incident unfortunate.

He said that Bihar Police raided here without informing Bengal Police. They arrested a local Noor Alam and took him away. What is his fault, is not known. They also fired in which 2-3 people got injured. They are undergoing treatment. Police here have recovered 3 shells. Minaj Alam further said that we live on the border of Bihar-Bengal. We have to live peacefully. But, this work of Bihar Police is dictatorial. We will complain against this to DM-SP. We will also talk to the government further.
