Union Minister Kiren Rijiju reached the Dargah of Nizamuddin Aulia in Delhi with the chadar given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Like every year, this year too PM Modi is sending a chadar to the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer Sharif. In such a situation, this sheet was handed over to Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui on Thursday. Today he took this special sheet to the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. After this the chadar will be sent to Ajmer Dargah.
This tradition has been going on since 1947
Haji Syed Salman Chishti, president of Sufi Foundation and the seat of the throne of Ajmer Dargah, said that the tradition of sending chadar to the PM of the country has been going on since 1947. This is the 11th consecutive time that the Prime Minister is sending a chadar to Ajmer Dargah.
Regarding this, Kiren Rijiju said that it is a privilege for us to visit Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. Here we are presenting the chadar for Ajmer Sharif which is the chadar of respected PM Modiji and taking it to Ajmer Sharif. Tomorrow we will spread that sheet.
PM Modi has sent a letter
After becoming PM, Narendra Modi is continuously sending chadar to the Dargah. He greeted people on the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti on Thursday and prayed for happiness and peace in everyone’s life. It is noteworthy that last year, on the occasion of Urs 812, PM Modi had handed over this special sheet to the then Minority Minister Smriti Irani and BJP Minority Morcha chief Jamal Siddiqui. Meanwhile, the PM also met a delegation of the Muslim community, whose photo he shared on his X handle.
Why is the sheet offered?
With the arrival of the 813th Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, Ajmer Dargah is filled with devotees. On the occasion of Urs, which is going on from 28th December, thousands of devotees from India and abroad reach the Dargah and fulfill their vows by offering chadar. This traditional Chadar is a symbol of affection and respect in Dargah Sharif and is considered a means of seeking blessings from Khwaja Nawaz Sharif.
