Khunti Baba Amreshwar Dham is all decked up for the holy month of Savan

Khunti, 20 July (HS). All preparations have been completed for the Shravani fair starting from Monday 22 July at Baba Amreshwar Dham located in Angrabari of Khunti district, famous as Mini Babadham of Jharkhand. Baba Amreshwar Dham Management Committee, the organization that oversees the temple complex, and the district administration are continuously working to provide maximum convenience and security to Baba's devotees.

The preparations were reviewed in a meeting of the district's administrative officers held in the Dham premises under the chairmanship of the Sub-Divisional Officer in charge Arvind Kumar Ojha. Khunti's Sub-Divisional Police Officer Varun Rajak and Torpa's SDPO Christopher Kerketta, Civil Surgeon Dr. Nageshar Manjhi, Nagar Panchayat's Executive Officer Nutan Deepriya Minj along with officers of various departments, Torpa's BDO Kumud Kumar Jha and police officers of Khunti, Torpa and Murhu were present in the meeting.

Manoj Kumar, General Secretary of Baba Amreshwar Dham Management Committee, said that full attention will be paid to the convenience of the devotees who have come to the Dham to perform Jalabhishek of Baba Bholenath. For the convenience of the devotees, separate new queues have been arranged for men and women. A shed has been constructed here. About five thousand devotees can stand in queue under the shed at a time. Fans and electricity have been arranged there. The General Secretary said that free facility of overnight stay will be available to the devotees in Amreshwar Dham. Many facilities including toilets, bathrooms, park for children are available for the convenience of the devotees. He said that for the convenience of the devotees, there is also a provision of quick darshan. Any devotee can avail this by paying a fee of only Rs 250.

The month-long Shravani fair will also begin from Monday, July 22, at Baba Amreshwar Dham premises. Hundreds of shopkeepers from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal set up their shops. The committee has fixed a fee for this. In fact, in the month of Sawan, which is Bholenath's favourite month, lakhs of devotees from different parts of the country gather here to perform Jalabhishek of Baba.

According to Civil Surgeon Dr. Nageshwar Manjhi, doctors and medical staff will be stationed with ambulances at Baba Amreshwar Dham for a month. All the doctors and staff of the district have been deputed for this. He said that bleaching powder will be sprayed everywhere in the temple premises.

Pandit Harihar Nath Kar, priest of Baba Amreshwar Dham, says that this time in the month of Sawan, an amazing coincidence is being found after 74 years. This year the holy month of Sawan is also starting and ending on Monday. There are five Mondays in the month of Sawan. Even though this year the month of Sawan is of 29 days only. Pandit Kar said that the first Monday will be on 22nd July. The second Monday is on 29th July, the third on 5th August, the fourth on 12th August and the fifth on 19th August. The month of Sawan will end on 19th August with Raksha Bandhan on Sawan Purnima.
