Khichdi will be distributed in Jagannath temple on 2nd November

Dhamtari, 29 October (HIST). After worshiping Maa Lakshmi, Annakoot Khichdi Prasad will be distributed at Mahaprabhu Jagannath Temple on 2nd November. This tradition has been going on for 101 years. At 12 noon, special worship of Lord Jagannath, brother Balbhadra and sister Subhadra will be done by Pt. Balakrishna and Pt. Gaurav Sharma. After offering the food to the Lord, 651 kg Khichdi Prasad will be distributed to the devotees.

In view of the crowd of devotees coming to the temple premises to receive the prasad, special arrangements have been made by the temple trust this year. Tiffin system will continue for those devotees who cannot reach the temple premises.

Shri Jagdish Temple Trust President Kiran Gandhi said that in the Sanatan tradition, distribution of Annakoot Prasadi on the day of Govardhan Puja is a recognition of religious faith and reverence. Taking this forward, Prasad will be distributed this year also. Committees have been formed to conduct the Annakoot program smoothly.
