Khelo India medal winners will now be eligible for government jobs, PM Modi's big gift to the players

New Delhi : Medal winners of Khelo India Games will also now be eligible to get government jobs. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday said that the Department of Personnel and Training, in consultation with the Sports Ministry, has amended the eligibility criteria for players seeking government jobs. After this, Khelo India medal winners will also be eligible. The move is in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a strong sports ecosystem, nurturing grassroots talent and turning sports into a career.

Khelo India Games were organized for the first time in 2018. According to the order, the competitions which have been given the status of national importance include National Championships organized by National Sports Federations, National Games organized by the Indian Olympic Association and Khelo India Para Games. Additionally, players who have represented the country or state in international or national competitions or have achieved success in Junior Nationals will be eligible for employment.
