Khalistanis threaten Indian ambassador to Canada if he does not come to the place where Nijjar was killed

The nefarious activities of Khalistanis are not stopping on Canadian soil. Recently, the separatist group Sikh for Justice has threatened the Indian High Commission in Ottawa. The Indian Ambassador was to visit the same city where Khalistani terrorist Nijjar was killed. Khalistan supporter Hardeep Singh Nijjar was murdered in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18 last year. The Indian Ambassador is visiting Surrey for the first time since the massacre. Before this, Khalistanis have threatened to target him.

India responsible for plotting the murder of martyr Nijjar: Pannu

High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma plans to stop in the capital Victoria as well as Vancouver and Surrey during his visit to British Columbia province. He is scheduled to meet with Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke and the Surrey Board of Trade on Friday. In an email, SFJ General Counsel Gurpatwant Pannu said his group would target Verma on March 1. Pannu said, India is responsible for the conspiracy to kill Shaheed Nijjar and pro-Khalistan Sikhs will get an opportunity to directly target the Indian High Commissioner in Surrey. Protests are also being planned in Surrey.

Canadian authorities assure security

This is Sanya Verma's first visit to British Columbia since March last year. Responding to SFJ's warning, he said, “I have informed the relevant Canadian authorities about the threat against me and they have assured me of my safety.” Meanwhile, the SFJ said it is hiring lawyers to hold Indian ambassadors accountable for inciting violence against pro-Khalistan Sikhs.

Pointing towards Pannu being targeted, Sanjay Verma said that he has been doing such acts for a long time. No restrictions have been imposed on this. He is misusing freedom of expression.

Tension in bilateral relations between India and Canada

SFJ chief Nijjar was shot dead in the parking lot of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in British Columbia. After this murder, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in his Parliament on September 18, 2023 that Indian agents were behind this. Since then, bilateral relations between the two countries have been badly affected.
