Canada took out a tableau of Indira Gandhi's assassination: On June 6, on the 40th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, a tableau depicting Indira Gandhi's assassination was made in Canada. This tableau was also taken out in Vancouver. In which a statue of Indira Gandhi riddled with bullets was made. Also, her assassins Beant Singh and Satwant Singh were shown pointing guns at Indira Gandhi. Apart from this, protesters in Toronto waved a large number of Khalistan flags outside the Indian Embassy and raised anti-India slogans.
Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandraarya expressed concern over posters and tableaus depicting Indira Gandhi's assassination
Chandraarya claimed that Khalistan supporters are once again trying to create fear of violence among Hindu-Canadians by erecting effigies of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Such threats are continuing. Some time ago such posters were also put up in Brampton. Apart from this, a few months ago Pannu of Sikhs for Justice had asked Hindus to go back to India. I will ask the Canadian investigative agencies to take immediate action in this matter.
Indira Gandhi's assassination was staged for two years
In June 2023, a tableau of Indira Gandhi was unveiled in Brampton, Canada. The tableau also carried banners of Operation Blue Star and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Which was criticized by India.
Also, after the video of this tableau surfaced, protests against it started in Canada itself. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau launched a campaign demanding action against those responsible by uploading videos of the tableau on social media.
Trudeau's cabinet also protested
This protest was organized by Sikh for Justice. The Indian government has strongly opposed the work of Khalistan supporters. Trudeau's party MP Anita Anand has also criticized this incident. Also, posting on the social media platform X, she said that the violent tableau of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is unacceptable. It promotes violence and hatred.
