Lucknow, July 19 (HS). The Commissionerate Police has arrested Maurice Okiye, a native of Kenya, from Indira Nagar in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, without visa and passport. When Maurice was not found with any documents, he was questioned for a long time and an FIR was registered under the Foreigners Act.
Maurice, a resident of Nairobi, Kenya, came to India to complete his studies. After completing B.Com and M.Com, he wanted to pursue further studies. Meanwhile, an FIR was lodged against him in a fraud case in Lanka police station area of Varanasi. He was arrested and sent to jail. After being released from jail, Maurice came to Lucknow in search of work. Here he started working as a cable wire connector. He kept his identity hidden.
Despite having the skill, he was not serious about passport and visa. During this time, a complaint was made against him and Lucknow Commissionerate Police arrested him from Sector 17 of Indira Nagar.
