Delhi Excise Policy Case: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not go to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office today to attend the questioning. ED has sent the seventh summons to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam.

ED had sent the seventh summons to Arvind Kejriwal on 22 February. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) claimed that the CBI is planning to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the next few days. Despite six summons, Kejriwal has not appeared before ED.

There are allegations of money laundering in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam and ED has called Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the same case. Earlier on February 14 also, ED had sent summons to Kejriwal for questioning, but even on the sixth summons, Kejriwal did not appear. What is Delhi Liquor Policy?

In November 2021, the Delhi government introduced a new excise policy, making liquor cheaper in Delhi and providing concessions to retailers. However, the BJP alleged a scam in the issuance of licenses to sell liquor and according to it, the party's favored dealers were favoured. By July 2022, the matter became so heated that Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinaykumar Saxena asked for a report from Chief Secretary Pare. On the basis of the report, CBI gave permission for investigation. CBI had arrested Manish Sisodia in the investigation of this case. Later, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by ED.
