Hearing took place in Himachal High Court

Garbage bags have been made mandatory for tourists visiting Himachal. A public interest litigation related to environmental concerns was heard in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. On which the division bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Sushil Kukreja of Himachal Pradesh High Court ordered to improve the environmental waste management system in the state. Earlier recently, the Uttarakhand government had also given a similar order. In which it was made mandatory for tourists visiting the state to carry a dustbin or garbage bag in their vehicles.

Sikh took it from Sikkim government

In the High Court hearing on July 19, the division bench ordered the state that the government should focus on tourism like the states of Goa and Sikkim. The bench said in the order that the state should learn from the Sikkim government to ensure tourism and participation of all communities. All travelers entering these states are required to carry a large garbage bag in their vehicle. Tour operators, travel agencies and drivers are also mandated to share information on garbage collection and disposal.
