Jagdalpur, August 10 (HS). Minister Kedar Kashyap performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the eco-tourism resort being developed at a cost of three crore 51 lakh rupees at Kosarteda irrigation reservoir on Saturday. In the program, Minister Kedar Kashyap announced an amount of 25 lakh for the construction of the main gate of the eco resort, 1 crore for the construction of toe wall around the eco resort, doubling of the approach road, 50 lakh for the renovation of the administrative building, transfer of government land owned by other departments available around the resort to the water resources department for the development of the resort and 25 lakh rupees for high mast light.

During this, Minister Kedar Kashyap said that there is a lot of availability of natural beauty, forest products, forest resources in Bastar, the government is promoting home stay, camping and eco tourism for tourism in Bastar. In this episode, Bhoomi Pujan has also been done today for the development of Kosarteda reservoir complex as an eco-tourism hub. Along with irrigation facility from Kosarteda reservoir in Bastar district, now the construction of eco-tourism hub will provide employment opportunities to women self-help groups and rural youth here. The minister said that Bastar has been world famous for its unmatched beauty, hence facilities are being developed in Bastar. There are many waterfalls in the division, initiatives are being taken to add them to the tourism map.

In the program, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap said that late Shri Baliram Kashyap tirelessly worked to build Kosarteda reservoir, the reservoir increased the irrigation facility in the area, now it will be developed as a center of tourism. Various public welfare schemes being implemented by the government are benefiting. Earlier, officials used to come to Bastar knowing it as a punishment of Kalapani, now the pace of development and government schemes have created a distinct identity as a tourist destination. District Panchayat President Smt. Vedvati Kashyap, former MP Dinesh Kashyap also addressed the program.

Addressing the program, Collector Vijay Dayaram said that Kosarteda reservoir was known for irrigation facility in Bastar- Narayanpur assembly constituency, now it will also get a new identity as eco-tourism. Earlier, Chitrakote, Tirathgarh, Kutumsar cave were famous as tourism in Bastar district, now Kosarteda eco-tourism will also give a different identity to it. District Panchayat Vice President Maniram Kashyap, District President Tikeshwari Mandavi, Sarpanch Salemeta Farsu Baghel, other public representatives including CCF RC Dugga, Forest Divisional Officer Uttam Gupta, Bhandari of Water Resources Department, Ved Pandey and villagers were present in the program. After the program, the officials of the Water Resources Department gave detailed information of the entire project to the minister. In the program, the guests planted trees under the name of Ek Ped Maa and distributed saplings to the villagers.

Kosarteda Medium Multipurpose Irrigation Reservoir Project of Bastar district is being developed as an eco-tourism hub along with irrigation. Kosarteda Reservoir, which is being constructed at a cost of about Rs 3 crore 51 lakh, will give Bastar a new identity through eco-tourism resort and other tourist facilities. As per the intention of the government, the participation of youth and villagers will be ensured along with the extensive participation of local women self-help groups in the operation of Kosarteda Reservoir Eco-tourism hub. Kosarteda Eco Tourist Resort mainly has 6 natural bamboo cottages, four luxury villa tents, a bamboo restaurant, children's park for children, adventure rope course, water sports facilities, along with garden development, bamboo gazebo, landscaping, lawn grass work, cement art work, statue etc. works to make the entire eco-tourism hub area attractive, along with approach road and parking space.
