Mumbai: Kavita Chaudhary, producer and actress of Doordarshan's memorable serial 'Udaan', who inspired countless girls to join the police force, has passed away due to a heart attack. Famous filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who became her co-star in this serial, has expressed grief over the demise of Kavita Chaudhary.
67-year-old Kavita Chaudhary died during treatment at a hospital in Amritsar. According to the information given by his nephew, he was ill for the last few days.
Many fans also paid tribute to Kavita Chaudhary on social media, remembering her as 'Lalitaji', the iconic character of the detergent commercials that appeared on TV in the 80s.
Apart from 'Udaan', Kavita Chaudhary also produced shows like 'Your Honor' and 'IPS Diaries'.
Kavita Chaudhary created the serial 'Udaan' based on the struggle of her elder sister and IPS officer Kanchan Chaudhary to become an IPS. Her character Kalyani in the serial 'Udaan' became very popular.
Paying tribute to Kavita Chaudhary, her co-star in the serial Shekhar Kapur said that in the last few years I have seen many top women police officers who have admitted that they were inspired to become police officers from the serial 'Udaan'.
It is noteworthy that during the Corona period, when some old classic TV serials started being shown again on Doordarshan, as a part of it, the serial 'Udaan' was also re-released.
