Katni: Father commits suicide after shooting his son, wife narrowly escapes the fire

Katni, 4 September (HS). A sensational incident has come to light in Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Here a father shot his six-year-old son dead. After this, the young man also fired at his wife, but she narrowly escaped and somehow saved her life and ran away. Then the accused shot himself and committed suicide. This sensational incident has spread terror in the area. On receiving the information of the incident, ASP Santosh Deharia, Kotwali TI Ashish Kumar Sharma along with the police force reached the spot. The FSL team has also reached the spot and is investigating. At present, the reason why the incident happened is not known. Police is investigating.

According to the information, the incident took place on Wednesday morning in Jayaprakash Ward of Kotwali police station area. ASP said that Mayank son of Kishori Lal Agrahari (35), resident of Sondhiya Gali of Nai Basti area lived with his mother Kusumrani Agrahari, wife Manvi Agrahari (30) and son Shubh Agrahari (6). On Wednesday morning around 10:30, Mayank first shot his six-year-old son with a Mauser in the house and then attacked his wife. The bullet grazed his wife and she ran away to save her life. On hearing his wife's screams, people from the vicinity ran but by then Mayank went to the upper room and after locking the room, shot himself. On getting information about the incident, Kotwali police station in-charge Ashish Sharma reached the spot with force. ASP Dr. Santosh Deharia has also reached the spot. The spot has been sealed.

The wife has been admitted to a private hospital. At present, there is no information as to why the young man shot his son and himself. Mayank used to work as a stamp vendor. The police have called the forensic team and finger print experts to the spot and are investigating. ASP Dr. Deharia also reached the spot. He said that the reason behind the incident is not yet known. The Mauser that the young man had was not licensed. The real reason will be revealed after the wife's condition improves. The entire case is being investigated from all aspects.
