Katihar, 07 October (HS). Bihar government provided financial assistance to the beneficiaries of Jeevika self-help groups and other schemes. The program was organized at NIC Auditorium, where Additional Collector, Deputy Development Commissioner, Director DRDA and District Project Manager Jeevika Katihar jointly presented token checks to the beneficiaries.
Jeevika Katihar provided Rs 7 crore 86 lakh 18 thousand to 2002 families under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme. Apart from this, Rs 18 crore 55 lakh 30 thousand were given to 1927 self-help groups. Rs 22 crore 24 lakh were provided as bank loans to 644 groups.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday gave compensation of Rs 1651 crore to the beneficiaries of the schemes of Rural Development Department. This benefit was provided to the beneficiaries of all 38 districts.
Jeevika Self Help Groups and other schemes in the district are playing an important role in providing economic empowerment and social security to rural women and families. These schemes are providing income generation and employment opportunities in rural areas.
