According to the information, on 30th May 2024, a complainant Sant Ram Gupta resident Ward No. 1 Kathua reported in Cyber Cell Kathua that the fraudster introduced himself as his nephew on call and asked him to transfer an amount of Rs 2,20,000 and he transferred this amount to two different fraud accounts. During the investigation, Cyber Cell Kathua team acted swiftly and froze the accounts of the fraudster by demonstrating tireless efforts. And on 22nd August, the fraudulent amount of Rs 2,05,000 has been recovered and deposited back in the victim's account. This achievement of District Police Kathua underlines the expertise dedication and tireless efforts of the unit in protecting the common citizens from online fraud and cheating.
