Kashmiri Pandit Temple: After 20 years, Kashmiri Pandits worshiped and installed the idol at the ancient Ardhanarishwar temple in Nadimarga village of Shopia district of north Kashmir. The officers provided this information. A large number of devotees from far-flung areas of the Union Territory descended on the ancient temple site at Nadimarg and visited the temple to participate in the puja. Officials said the puja ceremony was held in a peaceful atmosphere after a gap of 20 years, with local Muslims welcoming the Kashmiri Pandit brothers who reached the venue to participate in the puja.

Shopian Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar visited the Ardhanarishwar temple and said the occasion has ushered in an era of peace and prosperity. District and sub-divisional officials as well as local communities participated in the program. Adequate security arrangements were made along with other departments providing essential services to the devotees.

The DC reviewed the arrangements and interacted with the devotees and heard various issues related to their welfare including the demand for construction of community hall or Yatra Bhavan. He assured to take immediate action on this issue. The DC also visited the vacant houses of Kashmiri Pandits on the banks of the river.
