Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Land Scam: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has received a big blow from the High Court in the Muda land scam. In this case, the High Court has rejected his petition against the Governor. During the hearing in the High Court, it was said that it is necessary to investigate the facts mentioned in this application. For this reason, we are rejecting the application.

However, the matter is a piece of land of 3.14 acres in the name of Siddaramaiah's wife Parvati. BJP is constantly attacking the Chief Minister and his government over this issue and has accused CM Siddaramaiah of corruption and demanded his resignation. In this case, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has given permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah. Siddaramaiah challenged this decision in the court.

On the other hand, Siddaramaiah has been denying all these allegations till now. He also called the Governor's decision unconstitutional. After this, he approached the court challenging the Governor's decision legally. Siddaramaiah said that the Governor cannot tolerate the government. That is why he is trying to trouble the government in any way.

Know what is MUDA?

Mysore Urban Development Authority abbreviated as MUDA is an autonomous body for the development of Mysore city. Since the authority is responsible for the work of land acquisition and allotment, MUDA's name has been associated with this case since the beginning (2004). This case is related to the allotment of a piece of land as compensation by MUDA at a time when Siddaramaiah was the Chief Minister. Social activists allege that irregularities have been committed in this process. This has caused a loss of crores to the government treasury. The names of high officials of MUDA and Revenue Department have also come to the fore in this case.

what is the whole matter

Mysore Urban Development Authority acquired some land from farmers in the year 1992 to develop a residential area. In this process, agricultural land was alienated, but in 1998 a part of the acquired land was returned to the farmers by MUDA. Thus this land once again became agricultural land. Till here everything was fine. But now the dispute started from 2004, meanwhile BM Mallikarjuna, brother of Siddaramaiah's wife Parvati, bought 3.16 acres of land in the year 2004. Meanwhile, in 2004-05, there was a Congress-JDS coalition government in Karnataka and Siddaramaiah was the Deputy CM. Meanwhile it came to light that the land was once again alienated from agricultural land, but by the time Siddaramaiah's family came to claim ownership of the land, the layout had already been developed.
