Due to this, on Tuesday, some Kanwariyas vandalized a wine shop in Sahibabad area. They said that the wine shop was open and liquor was being sold from behind the curtain. The police reached the spot and pacified the matter. Earlier also, a video of a group of Kanwariyas running towards the police post in Muradnagar went viral, although the police said that no vandalism took place at the police post during this time.
ACP Rajneesh Upadhyay said on Tuesday that some devotees tore the curtains and vandalized the counter of a wine shop being run behind a curtain in Sahibabad police station area. Its video also went viral on social media. Police immediately reached the spot and pacified the devotees. He said that on enquiring about the incident, it was found that the dispute was about closing the wine shop. All aspects of the incident are being investigated on the basis of which further legal action will be taken.
On the other hand, Kanwariyas created a ruckus on Monday at the Ganganahar Ghat of Muradnagar police station. In the viral video on social media, a group of Kanwariyas is seen running towards the police post. In this regard, ACP Muradnagar Naresh Kumar issued a statement that the contract employees of the irrigation department were making arrangements for barricading and nets. At the same time, some Kanwariyas came and started bathing by tearing the net. They were stopped by the contract worker. The Kanwariyas got angry at this and started misbehaving with the contract worker. Immediately the police team reached the Ganganahar and brought that contract worker safely to the Ganganahar police post. Some Kanwariyas spread a false rumour that the person concerned had stolen their mobile and fled. Then a group of Kanwariyas ran towards the police post. The police team reached the spot and explained to all the Kanwariyas that the person was not a thief but a contract worker. After this, all the Kanwariyas returned. No vandalism of any kind was done at the post. This is a rumour.
