Kanwarai Devi, who was brain dead for three days, became immortal by giving life to four people | News India

Jodhpur, August 31 (HS). After a woman injured in a road accident became brain dead, her organs were donated on Saturday with the consent of her family. Her organ donation will save the lives of four people. Heart, one kidney and liver were sent to Jaipur from Jodhpur AIIMS via flight on Saturday morning. One kidney will be transplanted to a patient in Jodhpur AIIMS itself. The family says that it was her wish from the beginning that her organs should be donated after her death. So that someone can get life even after death, they can become immortal.

Ratan Lal, the husband of the woman who donated the organ, said that on August 28, he was going on a bike with his wife Kanwarai Devi (46) and son from his shop in Jaitaran to look after the farm in his village Kharia Mithapur. During this time, at around 8.30 in the morning, while trying to save the pilgrims walking on foot, a car came from the front out of control. To avoid it, Ratan Lal applied brakes and the bike slipped. His wife Kanwarai Devi, who was sitting behind, got injured in the same accident, she had a serious head injury. She was brought to AIIMS for treatment. Here, the investigation revealed that she was brain dead. On this, he waited for three days for her to recover but there was no improvement in her health. On this, after the doctor's advice, on Saturday he decided that the organs should be donated. Even though she is not in this world, but even after death she is alive in the hearts of the people, keeping this in mind, it was decided to donate her organs. The family also agreed to this.

I had expressed my wish a month and a half ago

Husband Ratanlal said that just one and a half months back a camp was held in Pali for organ donation. We were present there during that camp. During this time his wife said that if she is no longer in this world then her organs should be donated. In this way she will become immortal even after her death. Let us tell you that Ratanlal runs a grocery shop in Jaitaran and also has a surf and soap agency. The family lives in Kharia Mithapur, 14 kilometers away from Jaitaran. He has two sons Tarun Khatana (30), Rahul Khatana (22), and two daughters Kanchan (31), Saroj (25).

Green corridor from AIIMS to airport

Kanwarai Devi Gurjar's liver, heart and one kidney have been donated. She has been sent to Jaipur by 11 am flight. Heart, liver and one kidney have been sent to Jaipur. A 7 km green corridor was made from AIIMS to the airport under the supervision of AIIMS Chowki Incharge Dhanaram Kala. Liver can be kept for 12 hours, kidney for 30 hours, but heart has to be transplanted within 4 to 6 hours. In such a situation, three organs have been sent to Jaipur via flight.

The doctor said this is immortality in the true sense

Hospital superintendent Dr Deepak Kumar Jha said that the woman was admitted here since August 28. Many times the brain stops functioning after a head injury. In this case, no one can say how long the patient can survive. The kind of decision the family has taken is immortality in the true sense.
