Kanpur, 17 August (HS). Sabarmati Express train number 19168 going from Varanasi Junction to Ahmedabad derailed at midnight before Bhimsen station while passing through Kanpur. The derailment of the passenger train caused panic among the passengers. In this hour of disaster, while the responsible railway department, district and police administration were engaged in rescue work, the volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) also reached the spot and helped the passengers as if they were their own family members and provided relief.
It is worth mentioning that Sabarmati Express train was going from Varanasi Junction to Ahmedabad. The train derailed before Bhimsen station in Kanpur Bhimsen section at around 3 o'clock in the night. Due to derailment of about 22 coaches of this passenger train, there was a lot of screaming among the passengers. But it can only be called a miracle of nature that despite 22 coaches of the express train derailing, there was no loss of life or property. The railway administration, which reached the spot after getting information about the accident, has made all arrangements for the convenience of the passengers. Local citizens are also helping the administration a lot during the rescue operation. Amidst all this, the volunteers of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have also reached the spot and taken charge to help the victims promptly in the hour of disaster.
Volunteers from Kanpur South are also engaged in relief work and security of passengers and their luggage. Department Publicity Head Ashish, Kanpur South's Bhag Karyavah Sushil Katiyar, Tatya Tope Nagar Karyavah Shivam and Service Head Rakesh Sachan, Physical Head Rishabh and a team of other volunteer brothers are engaged in relief work. During this time, a massive campaign has been run by the volunteers to take the passengers to safe places with their luggage. The volunteers are carrying out their responsibilities with full dedication by taking the passengers from vehicles to roads, Kanpur Central Station and other places.

It is noteworthy that the Kanpur Jhansi rail route has been completely affected due to the derailment of Sabarmati Express train. North Central Railway General Manager Upendra Chandra Joshi, who reached the spot regarding the accident, said that the train driver has reported that the train collided with some heavy object. Any conclusion can be reached only after investigation. 400 meters of track has been damaged. Restoration may take time. Indore Patna Express passed from here at 1:15 in the night. Its driver did not report anything unusual. At the time of the accident, the train was passing at a speed of 80-90 km per hour. Kanpur Police Commissioner reached the railway derailment site and took stock
At the same time, Kanpur Commissionerate Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar also reached the spot and took stock of the Sabarmati Express derailment incident. He said that as soon as the information about the train derailment was received at night, senior police officers, local police force and response team reached the spot and relief and rescue work is being done. No passenger has been injured in the accident. The passengers have been sent to their destination by another train. Full cooperation will be given in the railway investigation and necessary action will be taken according to whatever facts come to light.
