Kanpur, 1 October (Hindustan Reporter). India won the two-match Test series 2-0 by defeating Bangladesh by 7 wickets despite the second Test match being played at Green Park here being canceled due to rain for almost two and a half days.

In this match, after winning the toss, the Indian team bundled out Bangladesh for 233 runs in the first innings and after that, playing fast, declared its first innings at 285 runs for 9 wickets and took a lead of 52 runs on the basis of first innings. In the second innings, Bangladesh team was reduced to 146 runs, after which India got the target of only 95 runs.

Chasing the target of 95 runs, the Indian team won the match by scoring 98 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in 17.2 overs. In the second innings, India's opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 51 runs with a brilliant half-century. Apart from Yashasvi, Virat Kohli played an unbeaten inning of 29 runs. Along with Kohli, Rishabh Pant also returned unbeaten after scoring 4 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 8 runs and Shubhman Gill scored 6 runs.

For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 2 wickets and Taijul Islam took 1 wicket.
