Kanpur, 25 July (HS). The weather department has forecast that due to light clouds in the coming five days, there is a possibility of light rain locally with strong winds and thunder between 25 and 28 July. On Friday morning, 14.2 mm of rain was recorded in Kanpur.
Dr. S.N. Sunil Pandey, Meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, said that according to the forecast received from the Meteorological Department of India, there is a possibility of light rain with strong winds and thunder between July 25 and 28. However, the rain on Thursday night and Friday morning has given relief to the people from the humid heat.

He informed that the cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and adjoining areas extends up to 7.6 km above the sea level, tilting southwards with height. The monsoon trough at sea level passes through Bikaner, Sikar, Gwalior, Satna, Daltonganj, Contai and then east-southeastwards across northeastern Bay of Bengal and extends up to 0.9 km above the main sea level. The area approximately shared at 22 degrees north from 3.1 to 7.6 km above the sea level is tilted southwards.
An offshore trough lies at the average level over South Gujarat-Kerala coast. A cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Uttar Pradesh at 1.5 km. Cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Assam at 1.5 km. Cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Rajasthan at 1.5 km.
