Kanpur, 22 April (HS). As part of the campaign being run in view of the Lok Sabha elections, a joint team of Cantt police station and FST on Monday recovered about Rs 8 lakh 94 thousand from a car during checking.
Deputy Commissioner of Police East Shravan Kumar Singh said that Syed Saif Ali, resident of 67 Hazira Mohalla, located in Kotwali police station area of Unnao district, during vehicle checking on Monday, Rs 8 lakh 94 thousand in cash kept in a polythene was recovered from the Thar car.
During interrogation, Syed Saif Ali told that he had his own business. This money was coming from Unnao. But could not provide any documents related to the recovered cash. The recovered money was taken into custody and legal action was taken and deposited in the district treasury of Kanpur city and further legal action is being taken.
