Kanpur, 21 September (HS). The police team of Maharajpur police station arrested the accused who murdered a woman and injured a girl on Friday in an encounter within 24 hours on Saturday morning. The reason for the murder has come to light as his intentions were getting spoilt due to alcohol intoxication.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Eastern Zone, Shravan Kumar Singh said that the accused arrested in the encounter is Kamlesh Tiwari alias Kamalu Baba, a resident of Purvameer village of Maharajpur. During interrogation, it was learnt that Kamlesh Tiwari is a drug addict. On the night of the incident, after drinking alcohol, he quarreled in his house and left from there and on the way, seeing a woman sleeping alone in the house, his intentions got spoiled and he entered her house and killed her and when the girl woke up, he injured her and ran away. While running away, people nearby saw him. Due to which, the police team intensified their search for him and in an encounter with the police on Saturday morning, Kamlesh Tiwari alias Kamalu Baba was injured by a bullet. Legal action will be taken against him and he will be sent to jail.
It is noteworthy that Kusum Devi, 55 years, wife of late Shankar Savita, resident of Purvamir village of Maharajpur police station area, was sleeping inside the house with her 9 year old daughter Priyanshi of Dinesh Savita of the same family. At night, some unknown people killed her and fled after injuring the 9 year old girl. On Friday morning, when the woman and the girl were seen covered in blood, they informed the police.
On receiving the information, ACP Chakeri and the police team of Maharajpur police station immediately reached the spot and started the investigation after securing the scene of the incident. The 9-year-old girl Priyanshi was immediately sent to the Community Health Center Sarsaul for treatment. From where, due to her critical condition, the doctors sent the girl to Hallet Hospital.
