Kannauj, 21 September (HS). A sleeper bus passing through Kannauj district on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway collided with a divider and overturned. There were 80 passengers in the bus, out of which 38 people were injured. The injured have been admitted to the Government Medical College in Tirwa. The condition of four of the injured is said to be critical. They have been referred to Kanpur.
The incident took place near kilometer number 185 of Tirwa Kotwali area. As soon as the bus reached near Pachor village, it suddenly collided with the divider of the expressway with a loud noise and overturned.
As soon as the information was received, Tirwa Kotwali police and UPDA personnel reached the spot. They admitted all the injured to the Government Medical College in Tirwa. From where the doctors referred four seriously injured to Kanpur.
Most of the injured are from Gonda

The bus went out of control due to drunk driver
Injured passenger Shubham Dubey said that there were about 80 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. The bus driver was drunk. He was also asked to drive the bus properly. Everyone was sleeping at night, when suddenly there was a loud noise and the passengers started screaming. On waking up, it was told that some other vehicle had hit the bus, but no other vehicle was seen at the spot. Here, due to intoxication, the bus went out of control of the driver and first hit the divider and then overturned.
