Kannauj, 17 August (HS). Once again a double decker bus met with an accident late on Friday night on the Lucknow Agra Expressway under Tirwa police station area of the district. The incident occurred when a bus full of passengers going towards Delhi collided with a divider and overturned. Police and UPDA personnel reached the spot on receiving the information and took the injured to the hospital for treatment. The district and police administration heaved a sigh of relief when no one was injured in the incident.
According to the information, a double decker tourist bus carrying 18 passengers was going from Lucknow to Delhi. As soon as the bus was passing through Tirwa police station area of Kannauj district from Lucknow Agra Expressway, it collided with the divider near the cut located at 194.5 km. and overturned. After the accident, there was screaming among the passengers. On receiving the information, Tirwa Kotwali police station police and UPDA personnel immediately reached the spot. The injured passengers in the bus were rescued without wasting any time and all of them were taken to Tirwa Medical College by ambulance.
In the incident, the police said on Saturday that the injured were brought to Tirwa Medical College for first aid. Everyone's condition was normal. They have been sent safely to their destination. No one was seriously injured in the accident. The traffic system is normal. Further legal action is being taken.
