Kanker- groom is minor, Women and Child Development Department stopped marriage

Kanker, 14 May (Hindustan Reporter). Pooja Netam, daughter of Vasudev Netam, was getting married to a minor boy in Bhandari Para under the Kotwali area of ​​the district. Someone complained about this to the Women and Child Development Department, after which the Women and Child Development Department team came to investigate. The investigation team checked the Aadhar card and other documents of the bride and groom, in which the department team stopped the marriage as the groom was a minor.

District Child Protection Officer Ashok Kaushik said that we got information from higher officials that a marriage procession has come to Bhandari Para, the age of the groom is less than 21 years. During the investigation, the groom's birth certificate and other documents were asked for, in which the marriage was stopped due to underage, after giving legal advice regarding age, the family agreed.

According to the information received, when the Women and Child Development team examined the documents, the bride's age was 18 years and the groom's age was 05 months less than 21 years. The boy was not legally of marriageable age. Due to which the investigation team stopped the marriage. After this the family reached the Collector's bungalow to seek permission for the marriage. When the Collector came to surround the bungalow, the bride's father said that the wedding procession has arrived at the house, Haldi and other rituals have been performed. The collector has reached the bungalow to ask for permission to marry, we should be allowed to marry, after the marriage the bride will stay in her maternal home for 05 months. But things did not work out and finally after giving legal advice regarding age, the family agreed.
