Dirang (Arunachal Pradesh), 23 October (HIST). Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today inaugurated the Kameng Culture and Heritage Museum. It is an institution that bears witness to the rich cultural diversity and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan and General Officer Commanding Gajraj Corps AVSM, Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh of YSM, Major General Neeraj Shukla of SM Blazing Sword Division and Dirang MLA Phurpa Charing and other dignitaries of Arunachal Pradesh were present.
The museum is located in the attractive village of Nyukmadung in Dirang along the road to Tawang and will play an important role in preserving the cultural heritage and contributing to the socio-economic development of the area. The inauguration of the state-of-the-art museum is part of the Indian Army's Operation Sadbhavna and is linked to the Vibrant Village Program of the Government of India.
Developed on the initiative of the Indian Army and with the strong support of the local communities and state government of Arunachal Pradesh, the museum symbolizes the rich ancient traditions and heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. It symbolizes the cooperative spirit of nation building through peace, security and unity of local communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that highlighting the profound cultural, historical and religious significance of the region, the Kameng Museum is an essential institution for conservation that will inspire the coming generations and remind them of the past. Khandu also praised the Indian Army for setting up the museum and development of border areas through goodwill projects in different parts of the state. He said, “He praised the Indian Army for rapidly implementing the vision outlined by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi during a conference in New Delhi on September 11.
Chief Minister Khandu said that the Kameng Museum is a reflection of the Indian Army's commitment to transform the border areas into model villages, border tourism and infrastructure development in line with the 'Vibrant Village Program' of the government. He attributed the inauguration of the Kameng Museum to the comprehensive vision outlined for the border region, which focuses on inclusion, sustainability and economic development of the region through 'border tourism' and 'cultural revitalization'. He thanked the Indian Army for its collaborative efforts with the state government for the overall development of the people of the state and the 'disturbed Arunachal'. He praised Professor (Dr.) Manabi Seth and his team at the Indian Institute of Heritage for building the museum with digital artefacts and enjoyed the fascinating film from around the world covering the details of the ancient traditions and contemporary life of the people of Arunachal. Praveen Chaturvedi, CEO of Moonlight Pictures, was praised for taking the lead.
