Mumbai: Prabhas and Deepika's film 'Kalki 2898 AD' has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark in India. Its Hindi version has earned more than 200 crores.
The film has received a tremendous response at the foreign box office including America and its collection worldwide has crossed Rs 900 crore.
There is no big film to compete with 'Kalki' at the moment. Therefore, it benefited from the second consecutive weekend. Its earnings in India have reached 75 crores in this second weekend.
Trade circles say that the film's 11-day net earnings in India have been recorded at 507 crores. According to the circles, this film has become the first superhit of the year. They said that the response received by 'Kalki' is very encouraging for the entire Indian box office because for some time now it has been happening that big budget films are not performing well. In the last two years, big budget films like 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Lal Singh Chaddha' along with 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' have flopped at the box office. Because of this, producers were afraid of making big budget and large-scale films. Now 'Kalki' has dispelled these doubts.
