Kalicharan Munda

Khunti, July 5 (HS). The three-day hockey competition organized at Sokoy playground of Rumutkel Panchayat of Murhu block concluded on Friday. Local MP Kalicharan Munda attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.

As soon as the MP reached Sokoy, he was welcomed in a traditional manner. Before the game, the MP got acquainted with the players and encouraged them towards the game. Addressing the closing ceremony of the competition, MP Kalicharan Munda said that sports teaches us how to live. Its rules should be applied in our lives as well. Just as players do not give up till the last moment in the field and struggle to win, similarly we should also keep struggling till the last moment to win in our lives.

He said that sports not only lead to physical development but also mental development. The spirit of competition is awakened. He said that the way players display sports in rural areas despite the lack of sports resources is commendable. Sports are a strong link for physical and mental health and for making the body and mind feel beautiful. Sports should be played with sportsmanship and discipline. He said that players should always play sports with discipline. Winning or losing in sports is not important, it is important to play sports with sportsmanship. The MP said that there is no lack of energy in the players of Khunti. Every possible effort will be made to develop sports talent in the youth. He said, I will work with the MP fund to promote sports and strengthen the players. I will make every effort to make Khunti a hub of sports.

After the game was over, the MP honoured the winning team by giving them prizes. Congress District President Ravi Mishra, Peter Mundu, Congress Cooperative Cell General Secretary Mohd Naimuddin Khan, John Herenz, Congress Murhu Block President were present on the occasion.

MPs arrived in rural attire

The MP arrived in a rural style at the hockey competition organized in Sokoy village. Wearing a white turban on his forehead, slippers on his feet, a T-shirt and normal pants, MP Kalicharan Munda was seen among the villagers.
