Kalash Yatra taken out by Public Durga Puja Committee | News India

Ranchi, 03 October (HS). Kalash Yatra was taken out on Thursday by the Public Durga Puja Committee located in Doranda, Ranchi. On the arrival of Kalash Sthapana and Shardiya Navratri, women under the leadership of Chief Patron Alok Kumar Dubey, Patron Kapildev Singh, President Gautam Dubey “Gopi” took out a yatra from the Chhappan Set temple complex by placing Kalash and coconut on their heads.

This yatra went to Batam Pond via Tulsi Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Vivekananda Chowk and after filling water in Batam Pond and making a resolution, it reached back to the temple premises via Rajendra Chowk, Gorkha Chowk, dancing and singing on the musical bhajan of Maa Durga. Pandit Uday Shankar Mother was invoked by chanting the mantras of Mishra and on behalf of the committee, through the chief host Vikas Kumar, all fifty-six sets of Kalash were installed in the temple premises.

Chief patron of the committee, Alok Kumar Dubey said that the New Day festival of Goddess Durga has started with the installation of the Kalash. Navratri worship was started in a small form 61 years ago by the government employees working in Nepal House Doranda, which continues today in a big form. Even after retirement, people who have moved from here definitely come to watch the puja with their families. Alok Dubey said that 56 sets of Maa Durga idols are being finalized in the Doranda temple complex.

Lord Ganesha, Lord Karthik and Mother Saraswati are also present along with Mother Durga. Committee Chairman Gautam Dubey “Gopi” said that the festival will be conducted with full devotion for 10 days. He told that along with the installation of the Kalash, on the first day of worship, Maa Shailputri was worshiped with rituals and Kheer and Pua were offered.
