
Monsoon is currently in full swing in most of the states of the country. From Assam and Gujarat to Odisha, the water level of rivers has increased and torrential rains have completely affected life. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its latest weather bulletin for July 28 (Tuesday). According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, on July 28, there will be thunderstorms in 12 states and union territories of the country including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall An alert has been issued.
Along with this, more than 15 other states of the country have also been warned of torrential rains, stormy winds blowing at a speed of 65 km/hour, lightning and severe turbulence in the sea.
Alert of ‘extremely heavy rain’ in these 12 states including Delhi-UP
According to IMD, 12 major areas of the country are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall with intense cloud accumulation on July 28:

Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Chandigarh: Torrential rains in the plains can lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.

Uttar Pradesh: There will be very heavy rain with thunder in many districts of Purvanchal and Western UP.

Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh: There is a possibility of landslides and overflow of rivers due to heavy rains in the hilly states.

Punjab: Heavy to very heavy rain is predicted in many districts of the state.

Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha: Monsoon activities will be quite intense in these parts of Central and Eastern India.

Central Maharashtra and Karnataka: Heavy rain will continue over Ghat areas of Central Maharashtra and Coastal and South Interior Karnataka.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in 15 other states of the country:

North and West India: There may be torrential rains in East Rajasthan, Gujarat region and Konkan and Goa.

Central India: There is an alert of heavy rain in different parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Eastern and North-Eastern India: Moderate to heavy rain will be recorded in the hill states of West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

South India: Heavy rain is expected in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka and Kerala and Mahe.
Stormy winds of 65 km/h and warning of thunderstorms
Along with rain, there will be a threat of thunderstorm, lightning and sea storms in many states:

Gale winds (40-50 km/h): Strong winds will prevail over Andaman-Nicobar, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala and entire Karnataka.

Thunderstorm (Lightning): There is a danger of lightning in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and North-Eastern states, hence people have been advised to stay in safe places.

Marine Alert (Warning for Fishermen): The weather will be very bad in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Strong winds with speed of 55 to 65 km/hr (gust up to 75 km/hr) will occur along Odisha and West Bengal coasts. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the deep sea.
