Kolkata, 12 November (HS). The security of Birbhum district district president Kajal Shaikh has been increased again before the by-elections.
According to information received from police sources, he has been provided ‘Y Plus’ category security. However, the district police has clarified that no official letter has yet reached them in this regard.
Kajal Shaikh told that her security has been increased since Monday night, but she has not commented on the reason for increasing security. There is an atmosphere of by-election in six assembly seats in Bengal, which will start from tomorrow.
It is noteworthy that Kajal Shaikh’s security was also increased in October, when she was provided ‘Y’ category security. Now, once again the discussion about increasing their security is in full swing in Birbhum district. Till now only Minister Chandranath Sinha and Trinamool leader Anubrata Mandal had ‘Y Plus’ category security in the district. Now Kajal Sheikh’s name has also been added to this list.
In this regard, Kajal Shaikh said, “Maybe the administration understood the need to increase security, that is why it has been increased. But the real security is the public.”
Moreover, the Core Committee meeting is scheduled to be held in Birbhum on 16th November, which makes this security enhancement even more significant. It is being told that this meeting will be held at the district party office in Bolpur, in which six members of the core committee and Birbhum district Trinamool Congress president Anubrata Mandal will also be present. After being released from jail on bail, Anubrata Mandal had taken over the responsibility of the district party, but the state leadership has directed to do joint management of the district through the core committee.
Now after Kajal Sheikh getting ‘Y Plus’ security, the question is arising whether this is a sign of increasing pressure on Anubrata Mandal?
