Kaithal: Professors filed petition in High Court against charge sheeting

Kaithal, 25 April (Hindustan Reporter). Rajinder Kumar Arora, professor and acting principal of Government Girls College, Cheeka, and Dr. Ravi Shankar, head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of the same college, have filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against chargesheeting both of them. Guhla MLA Ishwar Singh has also been made a party in this case. Apart from this, Secretary of Higher Education Department, Haryana, Director General, DC Kaithal, Director Higher Education Kaithal, Investigation Officer Rita and some college teachers have also been made parties.

The petitioners have alleged that on the basis of baseless, illegal and false complaints of some teachers of the college and against the rules issued by the Haryana Government, the MLA has got the two petitioners chargesheeted. In the affidavit given in the High Court, both the professors have said that That in the year 2022, on the orders of DC Kaithal, he had conducted an investigation against three college professors, Rohtas Kumar, Jitender Kumar and Kanwaljeet. One of these teachers, Jitendra, has recently been removed from the college for sending obscene videos to girl students. He alleges that the three professors have closeness to MLA Ishwar Singh. Due to which the MLA first threatened the investigating officer and former acting principal Rajinder Kumar Arora and put pressure on him to close the investigation.

Not succumbing to the pressure, the convenor of the inquiry committee, Dr. Ravi Shankar, handed it over to Pvt. The investigation report was handed over to Rajinder Kumar Arora. After this the investigation report was also sent to DC Kaithal. It has been alleged in the petition that on the basis of the above complaints, the MLA wrote to the department for the transfer of both of them and also got them chargesheeted. No employee working under Haryana Civil Service Rules can directly correspond or complain to political persons. Pvt. Rajinder Kumar Arora said that injustice has been done to him and he has been given a wrong charge sheet. He has gone to the High Court to seek justice. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on 13th.
