Kaithal, 8 April (Hindustan Reporter) After bathing on Somvati Amavasya, a fair has started at the historical Dera Baba Paramhans Puri Suryakund Kali Mata Temple of Mata Gate of Kaithal. In the two-day long fair, on the new moon day of Chaitra month and the first Navratri, people of Baazigar community come not only from Haryana but also from other provinces including Punjab, Rajasthan to offer prayers. The district administration has also become alert regarding the fair. Strict arrangements have been made by the police administration regarding this fair coming in the city police station area.
Mahant Raman Puri Maharaj of Mahant Dera said that all preparations for the fair have been completed. There will be strict security arrangements around the fair. There will be arrangements for Bhandara at 40 places for the devotees. Along with this, proper security arrangements will also be made with the cooperation of the police administration. Different duties have also been imposed on the sevadars regarding the fair. Shops of toys along with Prasad have also been opened around the fair, so that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
Mahant Raman Puri told that the people of Baazigar community consider Mata Kali as their family deity, due to which they come here once a year for worship. Apart from this, newly married couples come here for worship. According to belief, during the Mahabharata period, the eldest Pandava son Yudhishthir had established Navagrah Kunds in Kaithal itself. The largest of these ponds was established by the name of Suryakund. Sheetala and Kali Mata temples are situated in this camp. There is a temple of Maa Kali, the family deity of the Bazigar community. In such a situation, people of Baazigar community start their married life only after paying obeisance here.
