Kaithal, 30 September (Hindustan Reporter). Angered by the non-starting of procurement of PR paddy in both the mandis of Kaithal, farmers blocked the Jakholi Adda on Monday afternoon. The farmers went to the rally site but the police did not allow the farmers to meet the Chief Minister.
The head of the Bharatiya Kisan Union and the farmers said that till now the procurement of paddy is not going on smoothly, due to which the farmers are facing a lot of trouble. After that, leaders of Bharatiya Kisan Union arrived to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini about starting paddy procurement, but the police did not allow the farmers to meet the Chief Minister. DSP Gurmeet Singh took the memorandum of the farmers. After that, leaders and farmers of Bharatiya Kisan Union blocked the road at Jakhauli base. SDM and DFSC of Kaithal reached the spot. He assured that paddy procurement will be started tomorrow at 11 am. If the administration does not start procurement, then farmers will gather again on the 2nd and a decision will be taken after that.
