Jute Mill police caught two clever thieves, 13 stolen mobiles worth Rs 1.75 lakh were recovered from the possession of the accused

In this sequence, Jute Mill Police has succeeded in catching two clever mobile thieves. Police has recovered and seized 13 new and old mobiles of different companies from the possession of the accused, whose current market value is about one lakh 81 thousand rupees. Police has sent both the accused on remand today on Monday in the crime of theft.

According to the information, on 21 July 2024, Anil Sharma (age 43 years), resident of Gajanand Puram Colony, Raigarh, lodged a report in Jute Mill police station about the theft of his mobile phone One Plus (worth about Rs 10,000) from near the liquor shop in Savitri Nagar on 14 July. Crime was registered against the unknown accused in Jute Mill police station under Crime No. 334/2024 Section 303(2) BNS. Regarding the incident, the police station in-charge Jute Mill verified the theft, on which it was found that mobile phones of many other persons were stolen near the liquor shop. The police station in-charge instructed his staff and informers to keep an eye on the miscreants of the area and inform that this morning the informer informed that near Transport Nagar, the monitored miscreant Marshal Yadav has discussed selling second hand mobile phones to some persons at a cheap price. On receiving the information, the police station in-charge immediately sent additional force along with patrolling staff to Transport Nagar for verification. Where the police team surrounded the area and detained the suspect Marshall Yadav, from whom 06 mobile phones (worth Rs. 90,000) were recovered.

On questioning Marshall Yadav about the mobile, he told that he along with his partner Dilip Das, resident of Turkumuda Jute Mill, had been stealing from Chakradharnagar, Jute Mill and Beedpara liquor distillery for the past few months. Immediately, the police team traced another accused Dilip Das and arrested him. 01 key-pad and 01 switched off mobile, totaling 07 mobiles (₹91,000) were seized from his possession. The accused told in their memorandum statement that they used to steal mobiles by looking for an opportunity of drunkards near the liquor distillery. A total of 13 mobiles worth one lakh 81 thousand have been recovered and seized from the possession of the accused. Both the accused have been arrested for the above mentioned crime of theft and sent on remand. Accused Marshall Yadav is a monitored criminal of the Jute Mill area. The accused has previously been challaned by Jute Mill, Kotwali and Chakradhar Nagar Police in serious cases such as narcotics, assault, theft, robbery, attempt to murder and from time to time preventive action has also been taken against the accused.
