Canadian Prime Minister and Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau has resigned from the post after being in power for almost a decade. Trudeau, 53, announced this major decision during a press conference in Ottawa on Monday. During this, he mentioned the achievements, challenges and one regret of his field of work.
Trudeau’s regret
Trudeau said,
“If I regret anything, it’s that we didn’t succeed in changing the electoral system in Canada. I wanted Canadian voters to be able to record their second and third choices on the ballot paper as well. This change was necessary for the country.”
He said Canada needs to choose the right leadership in the next election.
“It has become clear that if I have to fight an internal battle, I cannot be the best choice in the election.”
