Mahisagar: Central Gujarat Power Company Limited (MGVCL) has come into action ahead of Diwali in Mahisagar district. Electricity check in Lunawada and Khanpur taluka of Mahisagar district has cost Rs. There is a wave of electricity thieves stealing electricity worth more than Rs 17 lakh.
Today MGVCL formed 26 different teams and did electricity checking in Lunawada and Khanpur taluka. In which about 100 electricity connections were checked in Khanpur taluka. Out of which theft of Rs 50 thousand was detected on 15 electricity connections. A fine of Rs 2.06 lakh has been imposed. Similarly, 582 electricity connections were checked in Lunawada, out of which electricity theft was detected in 88. A fine of Rs 15.38 lakh has been imposed.
While 582 electricity connections were checked in Lunawada taluka, 88 electricity connections were caught for theft of Rs. A fine of Rs 15.38 lakh was imposed, thus a total of 642 electricity connections in Lunawada and Khanapur taluka of Mahisagar district were investigated and a total of 103 electricity connections were investigated for electricity theft and a fine of Rs 17.44 lakh was imposed.
