In Panjeta village under Kumkal police station, a policeman opened fire on father Jagdeep Singh and his son Ramanpreet Singh, who lived in the neighbourhood. In which both were injured. Ramanpreet Singh, who is undergoing treatment at Samrala Hospital, said that he was returning from the fields to the village with a friend yesterday evening when policeman Pawar Singh, who lives in his neighbourhood, ran his car over us and they went to the fields.
When they got up, Pavitra Singh opened fire on them and fired 2 bullets in succession. After the firing, Pavitra Singh left from there and we ran towards our farm. He came on a motorcycle and told his father that he had been shot, upon which he left for the hospital on the motorcycle. Ramanpreet Singh said that on the way the policeman again came to him and fired at him again. Here we had a big fight with him and I tried to snatch the revolver from him so that he could not fire again.
But meanwhile the villagers gathered. He told that the bullet hit him near his head which was fired by the policeman from his official revolver. Jagdeep Singh, father of Ramanpreet Singh, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, said that when he was taking his injured son to the hospital for treatment, policeman Pavitra Singh hit him on the head with the butt of his revolver, due to which he got stitches.
Jagdeep Singh said that his family has no complaint against Pavitra Singh who lives in the neighbourhood, only he can tell why he attacked us. The injured father and son have demanded from the top police officials that strict action should be taken against the policeman who attacked them with the government revolver. He said that this policeman is deployed as a gunman with the honorable judge. As soon as information about the incident was received, police station incharge Jagdeep Singh and senior officers also reached the spot.
