Ranchi, September 21 (HS). A joint press conference was held on Saturday by Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha and SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha regarding the Jharkhand General Graduate Qualification Combined Competitive Examination (CGL) organized by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).

The Deputy Commissioner said that the examination was conducted peacefully at 135 centres in Ranchi on Saturday. Out of 60 thousand candidates, about 21 thousand candidates appeared in the examination on the first day. The examination will be conducted at 136 centres in Ranchi on 22 September.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that strict security arrangements were made for the question paper of the examination. To maintain the secrecy of the examination, the question papers of the first shift were kept in a sealed box with a coded lock. The code number to open the lock was provided by the Commission just before the commencement of the examination. The keys of the sealed boxes containing the question papers of the remaining shifts were made available to the examination centres in a sealed envelope half an hour before the commencement of the examination by the patrolling magistrates. The confidential material related to the examination was kept sealed in the strong room under CCTV surveillance, which is being broadcasted directly to the Commission and the District Control Room.

On the occasion, SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha told that for successful conduct of the examination, a total of 72 patrolling magistrates and static magistrates, examination supervisors, police officers and women and men police force were deputed at all the examination centres, which will also be there in Sunday's examination. The sealed box and keys from the strong room were delivered to the examination centres under police protection by patrolling magistrates. The boxes were opened half an hour before the commencement of the examination and sealed packets were taken out from them and sent to the examination hall. In the examination hall, the sealed packets were shown to the candidates present and after obtaining the signatures of five candidates, they were opened in front of them and question papers were distributed to the candidates.
