Ranchi, September 25 (HS). Executive Chairman of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Prashant Kumar said on Wednesday that the JSSC-CGL examination has been free from malpractice. For the first time, digital coding of question papers was done. QR code was placed on the top of every question paper. Strong arrangements were made to prevent any kind of malpractice. 9217 jammers and 15236 CCTVs were installed in the examination centers.
Kumar told in a press conference that a total of 6,39,100 valid applications were received in Jharkhand General Graduate Eligibility Combined Competitive Examination. Admit cards were issued to the valid applications. The examination was conducted in three shifts on 21 and 22 September. The total number of candidates appearing in this examination was 3,04,769. He said that for conducting the examination, the examination was conducted at a total of 823 examination centers in all the 24 districts of the state, in which the head centre superintendents of schools and colleges were appointed.
Kumar informed that the total number of examination rooms at 823 centres was 10,917, in which a total of 26,671 invigilators were appointed. As per the SOP of the Commission, a total of 824 static magistrates, 857 examination observers and a total of 415 patrolling magistrates were deputed through the district question centre. One nodal officer and one strong room in-charge were deputed in all the 24 districts. He informed that live CCTVs were installed in all the strong rooms for monitoring and supervision of confidential materials. Along with this, live CCTVs were also installed in the centre superintendent room/control room of all the 823 examination centres.
Kumar said that the confidential materials related to the exam were transported from the strong room to the exam centre in a sealed metal trunk under security cover on the day of the exam. The keys of the metal trunk were specially sealed in a tamper evident packet. Also, all the keys were sealed in a password protected special trunk. The question paper was sealed in a tamper evident packet, the seal of which was opened in the presence of five candidates in the exam hall. Thus, the question paper packet was opened in front of about 1,00,000 candidates. The exam was conducted in a fair, malpractice-free and peaceful manner at all the exam centres.
