JSSC CGL appointments will not be cancelled, High Court cancels state government’s order

After a long legal dispute and uncertainty regarding the Common Graduate Qualified Combined Competitive Examination (CGL) 2024 of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), a big and historic relief news has come from the Jharkhand High Court for the candidates. The High Court has completely canceled the controversial decision and order of the state government under which it was said to cancel the JSSC CGL examination process and appointments. The court has made it clear in its important decision that the entire transparent selection process and the future of thousands of successful candidates cannot be put in limbo merely on the basis of apprehensions of rigging or paper leak. After this decision, the way has been cleared for thousands of youth of the state to fulfill their dream of getting a government job.

A division bench of Jharkhand High Court judge, while hearing the petitions, said that the state government’s decision to completely cancel the examination process was not justified. The court, in its detailed judgment, remarked that candidates who have passed the examination through their hard work and dedication cannot be punished without any solid evidence or widespread irregularities. The court gave clear instructions that the Commission should proceed with the appointment process of successful candidates. However, the court has also made it clear that the departmental and police investigation (SIT Probe) into the allegations related to alleged rigging, irregularities and alleged paper leak in the examination will continue as before.

The court has struck a balance in its order to ensure that no culprit who passes the examination through corruption or illegal means is spared. The High Court has directed the investigating agencies to continue a thorough investigation into the irregularities, collusion and irregularities in the examination. If during investigation it is proved that a particular candidate has resorted to unfair means (Malpractices) or has been involved in rigging, his/her appointment will be terminated with immediate effect and a strict criminal case will be registered against him/her. On one hand, this balanced approach of the court has protected the interests of the hardworking candidates, while on the other hand it has also paved the way for strict action against corrupt elements.

This decision of Jharkhand High Court has been welcomed by the candidates, student organizations and parents across the state. This decision has brought happiness on the faces of the candidates who have been living in an atmosphere of confusion and tension for a long time. JSSC is now busy in administrative preparations for document verification and release of final merit list for successful candidates soon. This big recruitment on administrative posts in the state will give new impetus to the process of filling vacant posts in various government departments.
