New Delhi, 17 February (HS). The national convention of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started on Saturday at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. On this occasion, while addressing the public representatives and officials present in the convention, the party's National President JP Nadda enumerated the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in the last 10 years and called for winning the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the third time. The BJP President said that the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi has been full of achievements for the BJP and the party is fully prepared to score a hat-trick in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing more than 12,000 delegates present at the Bharat Mandapam, JP Nadda said that before 2014, people used to ridicule us, they thought that this was not possible. But after 2014, our government was formed and in 2019 again our party was successful in forming the government. In the history of Bharatiya Jan Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party of seven decades, we have seen every period. We have seen the period of struggle, we have seen the period of neglect, we have seen the period of contesting elections to save the security deposit, we have seen the period of emergency, we have also seen the period of winning and losing elections. But we are happy that the last decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi was full of achievements.
JP Nadda said that today BJP has become the largest political party in the world. Before 2014, we had governments in only 5 states and for a long time we were stuck in 5-6. After 2014, today there are NDA governments in 17 states and pure BJP governments in 12 states. In 2014, BJP's vote share was 31.3 percent, which increased to 37 percent in 2019.
He said that today more than 80 crore beneficiaries are getting free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Also, about 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the last ten years under the Modi government. These people have been given new wings to fly. The story does not end here… On every front, be it health, infrastructure, education or employment, Modi ji's leadership is fulfilling the dreams of every Indian. He said that Lal Krishna Advani ji made an important contribution in building a huge party by putting in all his strength throughout his life.
