Journalist and woman arrested for demanding ransom of Rs 2 lakh to keep the bar open

Mumbai: Police have registered a case against two people for allegedly barging into an orchestra bar in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai and threatening to pay Rs 2 lakh if ​​the orchestra bar continues. One of these two people is an alleged journalist while the other woman is a colleague of this journalist.

After registering a crime in this case, the police took immediate action and arrested both the accused. The two arrested accused include Sandeep Raskar and Sonali Handhav.

According to police sources in this regard, there are orchestra bars named Heaven Six and MH-43 within the limits of APMC police station in Navi Mumbai. Both the accused came here a few days ago. These people contacted the hotel manager and said that they want to avoid a police complaint against your bar and if you want to continue the bar, then they will have to pay a ransom of two lakh rupees. If this demand was not met, hundreds of women marched to the bar and threatened to attack and damage the bar. Apart from this, both of them also threatened to file a police complaint against them for calling them racial words.

Under pressure from these two demands, the bar management decided to pay a ransom of one lakh rupees each to both of them. However, out of this amount, both of them forcibly took twenty-five thousand rupees and left it there. After this incident, the bar management complained to the APMC police station, after investigating the incident, the police registered a case against the accused under various sections of the IPC and arrested the alleged journalist Sandeep, who lives in Pune. Apart from this, they also seized 18 thousand rupees from the amount of twenty-five thousand rupees deposited.
