Mumbai: John Abraham and Sharvari's film Veda, which was scheduled to release in theatres on August 15, is now likely to be pushed. On Thursday, July 25, the makers of the film released an official statement on the matter, stating that the film is yet to receive a censor board certificate.
The makers said in their statement, “We would like to inform the makers of Vedha, our fans and supporters that despite all efforts we are yet to receive the approval and certificate from CBHFC.” The production house followed their rules and sent the film to them eight weeks before the release. Vedha was screened on June 25 and then sent to the examining committee for review, since then there has been no update on the appeal for certification. The makers further added, We request that our trouble and inconvenience reach their ears and give us a certificate by helping us overcome our problem.
15th August is a special day for Indians, on which we, Nikhil Advani and John Abraham can feel lucky to watch this film in theatres. Recently we released our films Satyameva Jayate and Batla House on the same day, which received a lot of love from the fans. So we want and request that our next film Veda should also be released on the same day.
Former Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani expressed displeasure over the board's dealings with the producers and said that they were exploiting Nikkhil Advani and John Abraham.
