JKK publishes two books with the aim of development through heritage | News India

Jaipur, 17 August (HS). Jawahar Kala Kendra is playing an important role in preserving the folk arts of the state. Recently, two books 'The Painted Ballads-A Voyage with Colour, Music and Poetry' and 'The Celestial Hue – Trance, Tradition and Devotion' have been published under the joint aegis of the Center and Rooftop. Center's Additional Director General Priyanka Jodhawat and Assistant Director Abdul Latif Usta have written these books. Principal Secretary of Art and Culture Department Gayatri Rathore released both the books.

During this, the Center's Additional Director General Priyanka Jodhawat, Senior Accountant Chetan Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director Abdul Latif Usta and Kartik Gaggar and his team from the rooftop were present. 'The Painted Ballads' describes Phad painting while 'The Celestial Hue' explains the history, importance, technical aspects and relevance of Pichwai art in the current perspective. These also have special chapters for practice.

Gayatri Rathore said that authentic written literature should be available for the common people to know the culture of the state. The work of publishing the book by JKK is commendable, the book not only gives information but also teaches a lot by becoming a friend.

Priyanka Jodhawat said that this publication was done by the Centre with the aim of moving from heritage to development. The folk arts of the state are our heritage and they will develop in the true sense only when they are taken to the younger generation.
