The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is today conducting searches at 7 places in 2 districts in connection with the Reasi bus attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The places being searched by NIA are linked to hybrid terrorists and over ground workers. On June 9, there was a terrorist attack on a bus full of devotees in which 9 people were killed and a large number of people were injured.
NIA intensified search operation
NIA is searching in Reasi and Rajouri areas in the Reasi terrorist attack case. The central government had handed over the investigation of this terrorist attack to the NIA on June 17. It is noteworthy that on June 9, a bus carrying devotees to Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Reasi district of Jammu fell into a ditch after a terrorist attack, in which 9 people were killed and 41 were injured.
50 people were detained
Regarding the attacks, officials said the incident took place at 6:10 pm on June 9, when a bus returning from Shivkhodi temple to Mata Vaishno Devi temple base camp was attacked in Taryath village. The bus driver was injured during the attack and lost control of his vehicle. Authorities have detained 50 people in connection with the attack.
The Home Ministry had handed over the investigation on June 17.
A few days after the attack, on June 17, the Home Ministry handed over the investigation of the case to the NIA. The Resistance Front (TRF), a wing of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, initially claimed responsibility for the attack, but later withdrew its claim. In this case, Hakam Khan of Rajouri was arrested on charges of supplying food, shelter and logistics to the terrorists and helping in intelligence gathering before the attack. Earlier on June 30, the investigating agency had raided five hideouts linked to hybrid terrorists and their overground operatives in Rajouri.
