Jio-Airtel Tariff Hike: Jio and Airtel have increased the prices of their recharge plans. The companies have made their plans costlier by up to Rs 600. The new prices are coming into effect from July 3. The companies have not changed the prices of one or two recharge plans but have updated the entire portfolio.
In such a situation, consumers are facing a big challenge regarding their recharge plans. Jio and Airtel have increased the prices of both prepaid and postpaid recharge plans. However, prepaid users have a special opportunity before July 3.
What can users do?
If you want to continue your service at a lower cost, then you can recharge in advance. That is, you can get a new recharge done before your current plan expires. Many people have a question in their mind whether they will get the benefit of full validity in this situation.
That means they will get the benefit of full validity of both the old and new plans. Both Airtel and Jio have answered this on their website. You can recharge in advance and you will get full benefit of it. Airtel has also said that this rule will not apply to validity of more than 730 days.
You will not get any benefit above this. In such a situation, if you want, you can keep your connection active for a long time at the price of the old recharge. You can buy long term plans of these companies.
How much has the price increased?
Both Jio and Airtel have increased the prices of all their recharge plans. Jio's monthly plan will now start at Rs 189, which was earlier priced at Rs 155. This plan comes with a validity of 28 days.
You can buy this plan for Rs 155 till July 2. The price of the annual plan has increased from Rs 2999 to Rs 3599. You can also buy this at the old price till July 2. It will be available at the new price from July 3.
The same is the case with Airtel. The company's monthly plan will now cost Rs 199 instead of Rs 179. The price of the annual plan has increased from Rs 2999 to Rs 3599. You will be able to buy all these plans at the old price till July 2.
